The Pokémon Trading Card Game is about to get a whole lot darker with the upcoming Mega Evolution - Pitch Black expansion. This highly anticipated release promises to bring a whole new level of mischief and malice to the game, with a focus on Mega Evolution Pokémon. As an avid fan of the game, I'm particularly excited to explore the new cards and strategies that this expansion will introduce. One of the most intriguing aspects of this expansion is the artwork. The classic watercolor style used by illustrator Jiro Sasumo in the illustration of Armarouge is truly stunning. The Fire Warrior Pokémon exudes heat and power, and the Flame Legion attack does 40 damage, plus 40 more damage for each of your Benched Pokémon with Fire Energy attached. This is a powerful attack, and the artwork really brings it to life. Another card that caught my eye is Mega Chandelure ex. The newly discovered Mega Chandelure is a formidable opponent, with its Binding Flame Ability increasing the opponent's Active Pokémon's Retreat Cost by one Colorless Energy. This makes it more difficult for the opponent to retreat, while also powering up its Phantom Maze attack. The artwork by 5ban Graphics is truly terrifying, and the card itself is a force to be reckoned with. Slowbro is another card that I'm looking forward to playing. This card is a modern-day take on the classic Granbull, with the same attack name - All Out. Slowbro's All Out attack does 50 damage for one Psychic Energy, but does 160 more damage if you have no cards in your hand. This is a lofty condition, but with the right Trainer cards, it can be achieved. Mega Delphox ex is another card that I'm excited to explore. With its Trick Portal attack, Mega Delphox allows you to look at the top nine cards of your deck and put any number of Pokémon you find there onto your Bench. This is a powerful attack, and the artwork by 5ban Graphics is truly magical. Mega Darkrai ex is the final card that I want to highlight. The Bad Dreams Pokémon is truly terrifying, and the artwork by AKIRA EGAWA is immaculate. The swirling detail and horror of an eternal nightmare really bring the card to life. Overall, the Mega Evolution - Pitch Black expansion promises to be a thrilling addition to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. With powerful attacks, stunning artwork, and a focus on Mega Evolution Pokémon, this expansion is sure to be a hit with fans of the game.
