Our Under-18s team secured a spot in the FA Youth Cup's fourth round with a dominant 4-1 victory away at Mansfield Town. The goals were scored by Callan Hamill, Maalik Hashi, Louis Zecevic-John, and Brando Bailey-Joseph, showcasing a well-executed performance. This win sets up an exciting away tie against Manchester City in the next round.
The match began with a brilliant start as Hamill's clever flick from a corner routine put us ahead early. Hashi then doubled our lead from the penalty spot, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left corner. Despite Mansfield's possession spells, our defense, led by Jack Porter, remained solid.
Zecevic-John extended our lead in the second half, capitalizing on a deflected clearance inside the box. Oldershaw's goal for Mansfield was a brief respite, but Bailey-Joseph's decisive finish from inside the area quickly restored our three-goal lead. This victory marks our progression to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
The team's next challenge is a Premier League fixture against Leicester City on January 10, 2025, at the Sobha Realty Training Centre. The match will kick off at 11:30 am (UK time).
